Programme overview

Supply chains form the backbone of modern organisations, enabling them to achieve strategic goals and maintain competitive advantage. Yet, supply chains are increasingly exposed to diverse risks, disruptions, and opportunities that require flexibility and leadership than just mere optimisation. Our programme examines supply chains through a strategic lens, exploring how they integrate with organisational strategy, enable competitive positioning, and create opportunities for growth and differentiation.

This Masters in Management programme, with specialisation in Strategic Supply Chain Management, addresses the strategic design and shaping of future supply chain capabilities. It provides you with a solid understanding of both the technical foundations and the strategic implications of supply chain decisions, thereby preparing you to manage supply chains beyond the sole focus of optimising existing systems. Core topics span supply chain strategy and design, cross-border logistics management, supply chain digitalisation and analytics, procurement and supplier management, as well as risk management and supply chain resilience.

The Masters in Management programmes at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) combine depth with flexibility. Alongside your specialized courses in Strategic Supply Chain Management, you will take courses that secure a solid management foundation. It ensures that you also develop essential management and business competencies expected for advanced roles in today’s job market. To that end, you will gain financial literacy, explore how sustainability and compliance influence global business and operations, and learn how to work in multi-cultural and cross-functional teams. These courses are taught across specialisations and expand your networking opportunities.

Thanks to an interactive teaching design and applied coursework, you will experience intercultural collaboration, practice project management and your professional communication skills, and gain valuable hands-on training in data-driven decision-making

At JIBS, our location in Jönköping—one of Sweden's most important logistics hubs with strategic access to major Scandinavian markets and transport corridors—provides unique opportunities for engagement with industry practitioners and leading logistics organisations. Learning happens in close collaboration with companies through analysing real-world case studies and delivering consulting projects for industry partners. This strong industry connection is a hallmark of the programme that ensures your education translates into professional readiness, laying the foundation for a successful career.

Want to personalise your journey? Pursue an exchange semester at one of JIBS' extensive network of international partner universities, among the strongest in Sweden, and gain an invaluable global perspective. Or stay at JIBS and add a second specialisation from one of our other Masters in Management programmes, creating a dual expertise profile. The programme also accommodates internships for those seeking hands-on experience, allowing you to apply classroom learning in professional settings while building your network and exploring career paths. As a graduate from this programme, you will be equipped to start or advance your global career within supply chain operations and strategic management, targeting future roles as manager, leader, or consultant.

For each programme, student representatives are appointed to represent the student perspective in meetings with the Programme Director.
