Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO)

On completion of the course the student will be able to:

Knowledge and understanding

identify central concepts with relevance for teamwork and team collaboration.

Skills and abilities

integrate knowledge concerning teamwork from an organisational perspective, with theoretical argumentation
critically review different teams´ work methods and their consequences within and between various organisations.

Judgment and approach

evaluate consequences of teamwork on an individual, group and organisational level from the student’s own experience, supported by scientific literature.

Content

theoretical perspectives and models concerning teamwork and collaboration within and between professions and organisations,
the role of the service user/patient in collaboration,
team leadership, professional and multi-professional teamwork in terms of role, identity and power,
team development and team collaboration within and between various organisations,
current research on teamwork in organisations,
future challenges for teamwork in organisations.

Type of instruction

The course is web-based and implemented through lectures and group discussions.

Entry requirements

The applicant must hold the minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (i.e. the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) within health and caring sciences, behavioural science, social work, or educational sciences (or the equivalent).

Examination and grades

The course is graded Pass with distinction (VG), Pass (G) or Fail (U).

Examination of the course will be based upon an individual written assignment and discussions.
