COURSE SYLLABUS

On completion of the course the student shall:

• demonstrate comprehension of basic concepts and principles in business planning, entrepreneurship, international business, marketing and sustainable development
• display knowledge of how different ideas can be developed into a business, and understand the various factors that influence the process of starting new businesses

• demonstrate skills of conducting a project based on the students own specific competence
• demonstrate skills of using project methodology in a business-like way
• demonstrate the ability to present, discuss and motivate the chosen solution
• demonstrate the ability to develop important entrepreneurial abilities such as sense of responsibility, entrepreneurial drive, problem-solving and communication skills, creativity, selfinitiative and teamwork

• demonstrate the ability to assess relevant methods and solutions based on social and ethical aspects
• demonstrate an understanding of the meaning of international business and sustainable development, and their consequences and opportunities when developing a new business.

The course contains theories of the surrounding world as well as models and methods of human behaviour that are translated into a project work.

• Development of a business plan
• Creating vision, mission and business idea
• Different perspectives on entrepreneurship in new and established companies
• Sustainable development
• International business
• Contemporary social and environmental analysis
• Theories, methods and models for product and service design
• Interpret client requirements, analyse, design and present solutions in project form

Instruction consists of lectures, seminars and a group project assignment.

Language of instruction is English.
