On completion of the course the student will be able to:

describe the origins and contemporary conceptualisations of co-production
identify co-production and related concepts as enacted at the micro-, meso- and/or macro-system levels
identify the processes for successful co-production
explain the importance of engagement with patients and/or citizens in co-production.

investigate theoretical, ethical and practical applications of co-production
apply co-production and related concepts.

Judgment and approach

critically appraise co-production and related concepts as applied at the micro-, meso-, and/or macrosystem levels
critically review and evaluate own achievements related to intended learning outcomes
reflect upon personal experiences and development needs for co-production in practice, improvement work and research.

The course is web-based including discussion and seminars using a web-based platform.

Entry requirements

The applicant must hold the minimum of a bachelor's degree (i.e. the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits at an accredited university) within health sciences, behavioral science, social work, educational sciences, engineering, urban design or equivalent. Proof of English proficiency is required (or the equivalent).

Examination and grades

The course is graded A, B, C, D, E, FX or F.

Examination will be based upon an individually written assignment, participation in seminars, and discussions.
