On completion of the course the student shall:

Knowledge and understanding

show basic familiarity with key concepts and tools in project methodology
show basic familiarity with key concepts and theories within the area of group dynamics and leadership
display knowledge of how group dynamics and leadership affect results and work climate in projects

Skills and abilities

demonstrate the ability to use relevant project tools and methods within the area of project methodology
demonstrate the ability to analyse a group process, membership and roles in a group and describe areas to improve effectiveness and results

Judgment and approach

demonstrate an understanding of the significance of different perspectives (gender, social sustainability and intercultural communication) in identifying and analysing problems in project management, group dynamics and leadership

Content

The course includes two parts. One part about group dynamics and leadership and one part about project management and methods. The course includes basic project methodology with models and tools for the project manager. The part about group dynamics and leadership includes theories and models for how the individual, the group and the leader's behaviour influence each other.

Type of instruction

Lectures and exercises.

Language of instruction is in Swedish but English may occur.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements and English 6, Physics 1, Chemistry 1, Matematics 3c or Matematics D in the Swedish upper secondary school system (or the equivalent).

The course is graded 5, 4, 3 or U.
